Grass Roots Majority Required

Our country was designed as a Republic form of government where the individual has power over his own life and government only has limited powers over the individual as given to it from the people through a constitutional convention. Unfortunately the politicians have morphed our government from constitutional government to an unlimited majority rules democracy.

This means that although we are right to demand our individual sovereignty, the only way we are going to reach this goal is to get a majority of our fellow Americans to join us in our quest to return to a Republic form of Government. We can not do this alone!

I am asking you to sign up to a local townhall on the internet so we can work together to reach that Majority. The following is a YouTube clip by Dennis Pragger to help motivate you to get involved. Watch this clip and understand that with a little extra involvement you can help make a difference.

Dennis Pragger Clip on Limited Government

The goal is to set up a system for Grass Roots Conservatism that can be duplicated from district to district, from county to county, from state to state. We must set up a townhall system that can be used by conservatives country wide one county at a time.

Let's get you involved in politics because with numbers we can make a difference for freedom!

Grass Roots Conservativism Through The Internet

The average voter has conservative values but they have busy lives. You do not want to spend all your time concentrating on politics. You can not work 40 hours plus a week, attend to your kids, maintain your households, and find a little time for yourself while at the same time spending 20 hours a week tending to politics.

So how can we make it easy for you to get informed and involved in politics without the commitment of that much time? The answer is internet social networking.

The Local Townhall Concept

Those of us that have commited the time required to understand the issues and fight the political class must package our information in a compact and entertaining manner so that the average voter can be involved with as little as 2 hours of their time each week. Their involvement must be made as easy as possible and internet technology is the answer.

An online townhall at a specific time each week for 2 hours maximum would allow voters to understand the issues from our conservative viewpoint right from the comfort of their own computer. The townhall would be live during those 2 hours but must also be available for replay so those unable to make our schedule are also included.

A Local Townhall

I have currently set this townhall as a county wide Townhall. But the concept is to set up a system of free internet technology so that our volunteers can have a townhall for each community in the county. For Lehigh County I am suggesting one townhall set up for each school district in the county. That way the voters would only hear the local politics that affects their lives. You might just tune out if you have to listen to politics that you don't care about.

A Common User Name

The first step of this townhall system is to set up a organized system of usernames for each townhall member. This system will allow you to know who you are communicating with and if they are a fellow townhall member even if you have never communicated with them before.

An example would be palhum20kpr@aim.com. The user name in this system would be palhum20kpr. The first two letters of the user name would indicate your state. The second two letters would be a county code. LH would indicate Lehigh County. The third two letters would be a local municipality code. UM would indicate Upper Milford Township. The next two numbers are random as two or more people in a municipality can have the same initials. In my case I choose 20 to represent my favorite baseball player, Mike Schmidt. Finally the user name ends with the users initials, my initials are kpr.

So each member of my East Penn or Upper Milford townhall would have the first six letters of their username as PALHUM. I can then tell that I am communicating with a fellow Upper Milford Townhall member and if the second two letters are LH I can tell that I am communicating with a townhall member from Lehigh County.

This user name would be used for a common e-mail provider, a common message board, and townhall instant messaging. Here are the municiple codes for Lehigh County.

Come on, take the first step, create your username and sign up for a second e-mail address to get involved in politics, with little commitment of your time. And if it doesn't work out for you, you can just stop checking that e-mail account. Once you have created your username go to www.aim.com and set up a new account with that name. When you have your new e-mail address send me an e-mail at palhum20kpr@aim.com and I will add you to my contact list. Why guess who to vote for? With your local townhall you can be an informed voter.

Imagine a Real Townhall

When you go to an actual townhall it usually consists of a donated firehall with a local politician giving a 1 hour speech about his stands on the issues. Then in the second hour he takes questions from the audience with a back and forth between the audience and the politician. We can duplicate a real townhall online.

I have found an free internet radio website where anyone can set up their own internet radio show. The first hour of the townhall can be simulated by this radio show. I would invite a different politician on to the show each week and he can give his positions on issues while I moderate the hour. You can listen into this first hour live or if you can not make the townhall you can listen to a replay at your leisure.

I would send out e-mails to those on my contact list with their new townhall user names announcing the politician due to speak, the time of the live radio show, and the topic of the discussion. So sign up for your aim e-mail account to participate.

Here is a link to the radio show for our townhall. You can hear a sample show as an example of how the show might sound:

Back and Forth Questions

But a Townhall requires back and forth from the audience! The second hour is simulated by a second free website called PalTalk.com. This is an instant message program where up to 200 people can type comments back and forth to each other. The politician would join us during the second hour on the instant message site.

But this is more than just instant message typing. This site includes a system where you can take turns talking into your microphone by pushing a button on the screen and all 200 people can hear you. The moderator determines who gets to speak. When your turn comes up you can ask the politician a live question. He can then answer your question while all 200 people can hear the conversation. An Online Townhall Question and Answer.

You must sign into the PalTalk Townhall using your username and you must have a mic on your computer. Mics can be purchased at Staples for about $15.

I can not give you the link to our PalTalk page ahead of time because it is only available live during the second hour of the townhall. So you need to sign up for your new townhall e-mail address with your new username so that I can send you a link to participate in the 2nd hour PalTalk Townhall.

Note that the second hour is live so you will not be able to listen to a replay at a later time.

Opportunity for More Participation

You can just tune in to the two hour townhall as listed above and check your new e-mail address to see when the next show is and what is the agenda. But if you would like to participate more with your new townhall friends the townhall also has a 24/7 message board. You would sign up for this message board with the same username you used for your new e-mail.

At the message board you can voice your opinion on the different subject listed there. You can leave messages for your fellow townhall members or you can pose questions ahead of time for future shows. Here is the link to the message board.

Finally for those of you on face book, I have created a facebook group for you to participate in. You can use your normal facebook username to participate here.

Please sign up for your new e-mail address at aim.com and the send me your address. When we get 100 people signed up I will start working on lining up guests for the townhall.

This is an easy way to get envolved in politics with little interference in your busy life.
